It will support healthy living through a true ’15-minute neighbourhood’, with new streets enabling people to access shops, services and the station easily on foot and by bike.
It will also respond to the climate emergency through sustainable, carbon-limiting design and green spaces. Finally, we want it to harness Wakefield’s creativity, involving local creative talent in the development of the scheme, particularly through the proposed community space at the former Crown Court building.

This landmark building will be renovated into a multi-use community space. Designed flexibly, options for this space include performance spaces, a café/restaurant as well as workshop and activity spaces. This development is designed to be a creative space for a diverse community to shape and enjoy.

Old Police Station
This heritage building will be transformed into 33 one, two and three-bedroom apartments with communal gardens.

Wood House
The existing building will be renovated into a single 4-storey property.

Gills Yard
9 new-build two-storey mews homes are planned along this historic street.

Egremont House
The former registry office building is planned to be converted into apartments, potentially available on a serviced basis.

Gills Place
A new-build modern apartment block offering 28 one-bedroom apartments and 15 two-bedroom.
